As a part of the visit, an audio visual presentation was initially shown by NSE to the students. It provided insights about the history of capital markets in India and NSE’s journey over the last 25 years. Subsequently, an interactive session was conducted by Mr. Hitesh Sethia, who through his two-hour talk explained various concepts of the financial markets and also provided useful examples with relevance to practical life. He also explained to the students the various nuances of trading and investment. Various functions of the exchanges were explained very lucidly viz. listing, trading and settlement. Lastly, with the help of a live terminal, he explained the basic concepts of trading in cash markets (placing and execution of orders, settlement mechanism, global best practices in this regard, etc.)
