The orientation conducted by the faculty for incoming Bachelor of Science in Economics students was an enlightening two day experience held on 14th and 15th August 2023 providing a comprehensive overview of the degree program. Dr. Ruchita Verma, our esteemed dean, captivated us with her impassioned address, infusing the campus with a palpable sense of excitement and purpose.
Her words inspired confidence as she articulated the wealth of opportunities awaiting us in our academic journey. The session meticulously outlined the course structure, delving into core subjects such as microeconomics, macroeconomics, econometrics, and financial analysis. Emphasizing the interdisciplinary nature of economics, the faculty in charge for each subject along with their introduction highlighted the integration of mathematics, statistics, and social sciences throughout the curriculum which was also followed by the directors speech and the guest of honor.
Lastly, day one ended successfully with the vote of thanks given by Mr. Chandan Adhikari the core member of the discipline committee and the eldest faculty of the college his words were enlightening and full of positivity which pushed us to brainstorm about our life and how we want to craft it.Moreover, insightful discussions regarding potential career paths illuminated diverse job opportunities awaiting graduates, including roles in finance, consulting, public policy, and academia.
