Dr. Arun Sharma is the Director of NMIMS Navi Mumbai Campus. With over two decades of experience spanning academia, research, industry, entrepreneurship, and executive training, he brings to his role a thoughtful blend of scholarly depth and practical perspective. He holds a Ph.D. from IIM Mumbai and has further honed his skills through an Executive Program at Harvard Business School, Boston Campus, USA.
In academics, Dr. Sharma has contributed extensively to research, teaching, executive education, and institutional leadership. He has held different academic leadership positions for more than 11 years. He spearheaded many academic initiatives, introduced innovative pedagogical practices, and designed contemporary courses at the postgraduate and doctoral levels. His efforts have been recognized through multiple awards for excellence in teaching, research, and administration.
Dr. Sharma is an active researcher, and most of his research has been published in the leading Category "A” journals. He is also a mentor to more than 10 Ph.D. scholars. His work is valued for combining academic rigour with practical relevance. He successfully completed a Government of India (ICSSR) sponsored research project as Project Director with a grant of approximately ₹14 lakhs and has also undertaken other assignments with organizations such as ONGC.
Dr. Sharma has conducted Management Development Programs for thousands of mid- and senior-level executives across 25+ leading organizations, including Abbott, L&T, Reliance, Eicher Motors, HDFC, VFS Global, Tube Investments, GSK, Edelweiss, Kalpataru, and Bank of India. He has also been invited to share his insights at forums hosted by Indian Oil, NASSCOM, and several academic institutions.
