Dr. Pratik Rajendra Satpute is an accomplished academician and hospitality professional with over a decade of combined experience in the hotel industry and higher education. Dr. Satpute holds a Ph.D. in Hotel Management from Savitribai Phule Pune University and is recognized as the youngest Ph.D. holder in Hotel Management from the university. He has also qualified the National Eligibility Test (NET) in Tourism Administration & Management, the State Eligibility Test (SET) in Management, and the National Hospitality Teachers Eligibility Test (NHTET) conducted by NCHMCT, India.
Prior to joining academia, Dr. Satpute gained extensive industry experience working with renowned international hotel brands such as Vivanta by Taj, Novotel, and Radisson Blu, where he honed his skills in front office operations, reservations, and revenue management. His transition to academia was driven by a passion for teaching, research, and mentoring aspiring hospitality professionals. Dr. Satpute has played a pivotal role in enhancing teaching-learning outcomes through innovative pedagogical practices, curriculum development, and student-centered initiatives in his previous assignments. He has handled key academic and administrative roles including ERP Coordinator, Faculty Examination Officer, CAP Coordinator, and Departmental IQAC Coordinator. Dr. Satpute’s research interests include hotel revenue management, tourism marketing, and service innovation. He has authored multiple Scopus- and ABDC-indexed research papers, published case studies in Emerald Emerging Markets Case Studies, and contributed book chapters with reputed publishers such as Springer and IGI Global. In addition, he holds three Indian patents and two design registrations in hospitality innovation and technology integration.
He is the author of the book "Managing Hotel Room Reservations: Modern Implications & Practical Approach” and a certified Front Office Trainer by the American Hotel & Lodging Educational Institute (AHLEI). His academic excellence has been recognized with several accolades, including the Young Researcher Award at the Students Conclave in Hospitality & Tourism. Dr. Satpute believes in experiential and technology-driven education that bridges the gap between academia and industry.
