Dr. Shefali Joshi has Ph.D. in Management Interdisciplinary. she is an alumnus of the 1994 batch from the Maharahtra State Institute of Hotel Management & Catering Technology, Pune (former FCI) She has done her Master of Arts from University of Pune & Master of Travel Tourism as well.
With so much of academic excellence, she has a vast experience of around 29 years, both in Industry as well as Academics. She has worked with renowned Indian Hospitality Group like Taj Group of Hotels, Mumbai for few years.
She started her academic career with Prestigious Dr. D. Y. Patil Institute of Hotel Management& Catering Technology, Pune (1998 to 2016). She also has worked as Training and Placement coordinator for almost 16 yrs. She has been handling subjects like Culinary, Accommodation Management, Communication and Marketing Management. She also has contributed in growth of renowned Educational Groups such as Suryadatta Group of Institutes( 2018 to 2022 ), MIHM ( 2017) & recently MIT World Peace University ( 2022 onwards) , Pune. Her contribution in hospitality education, research and development, and extension in Hospitality Field is commendable.
She has always been part of curriculum Development and updation for Hospitality Studies Program. She is a board of studies member for B.Sc. Hospitality Studies & a for BHMCT at Savitribai Phule Pune University.
She is the author of two books ‘Rooms Division Technology ‘and ‘Principles of Food Production’.
She has facilitated MOUs with various hotels like Marriott Group, Hilton , Hyatt etc. and with prestigious Russian University & Technical University of Shannon, Ireland for Academic and research Collaboration.
She has also hosted few Culinary shows on Television like ‘ Amhi sare Khavvaiye and Khana Khajana ‘
She has presented research papers in national and international conferences & has published 13 Research Papers in renowned International and National Journals & 3 patents. She is a reviewer in prestigious hospitality research Journal . She has also won Best Research Paper award in National Seminar organized in association with Savitri Bai Phule Pune University.
